Lymph Drainage Therapy

Lymph Drainage Therapy is a gentle technique that works through the body's fluid system to activate the circulation of the tissues and stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems. The result of the therapy can include reductions in edemas, detoxification of the body, regeneration of tissue as well as many other benefits. LDT is highly effective in preparing the body before major surgery and afterwards to prevent edema and lymphedema and is best administered within 12 hours pre-op.

Using exacting anatomical science and distinctive manual processes, LDT enables practitioners to detect the specific rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymph flow in order to assess overall circulation and determine the best alternate pathways for draining body-fluid stagnations. These subtle manual maneuvers activate lymph and interstitial fluid circulation as well as stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems. It is shown that when these actions are accomplished, the results can be:

•	Reduction in edemas (swelling) and lymphedemas of various origins
•	Detoxification of the body
•	Regeneration of tissue, including burns, wounds and wrinkles
•	Anti-aging effects
•	Relief of numerous chronic and sub-acute inflammations, including sinusitis, bronchitis and otitis
•	Relief of chronic pain
•	Reduction in the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibro-myalgia
•	Anti-spastic actions to relieve conditions such as muscle hypertonus and some forms of constipation
•	Deep relaxation to aid insomnia, stress, loss of vitality and loss of memory
•	Alleviation of adiposis and cellulite tissue

Lymphedema Therapy

I am certified in Lymphedimic Therapy including bandaging and hands-on practices. In many cases Lymphedema is preventable if therapy is received in time to reroute the flow of lymph after the system has been damaged by surgery, disease, or injury. The therapy is not painful but actually deeply comforting. When received before surgery, the patient often recovers faster and with far less pain. When received after surgery, recovery is often quicker and requiring far less pain medication. The patient is able to return to their lives and careers in a shorter time. The work is done throughout the body, benefiting the circulatory system, the elimination system, and the functioning of the major organs, including the brain.
